Ducting Tropo at the end of October

281014_tropoThis time I was lucky to follow to Willam Hepburn’s Worldwide Troposferic Ducting forecast.
On the afternoon, 28th of October, I started to monitor the OZ7IGY/B on 144 Mhz (QRB 847 km). As the beacon running in digital and analog modes, so very easy to monitor his activity, using  the special software. At the normal conditions I can not hear and decode his CW FSK transmission by ears . Just, sometimes, only decoding by special software, called “PI-RX” . But  around 2030 utc his signal rise up to S5 by S-meter! Than I checked 70 cm band and found SP2MKO, calling CQ on 432.200. After QSO with Marek, I moved to 2 M band and started CQ on 144.270. Can not say, it was a pile-up, but I make 15 QSO during 1,5 hour. Stations from DL, OZ, PA, SP… But most surprised for me was QSO with F5SE/P (JN19XH). QRB 1733 km. His signal was 339 and I’ve got 529.  Excellent! My last QSO was at 2306 with DL1KDA.
Probably, I was the most northern in this tropo. Did not hear or saw in  KST-chat and DX cluster any QSO with OH stations. Also, nothing from Central Europe: 3 times we tried with Matej, OK1TEH, but only MS pings.
