Aurora on 27th of February

A geomagnetic storm that started on Feb. 27th when a CME sideswiped Earth’s magnetic field.
magnetogram aurora_2802_2 At the first peak (around 17:00 utc) I did not find any activity on any VHF bands. But another one (around 22:00 utc) was stronger and very active.  Firstly I looked only for a new stations, which are not in my log. But laurora_2802ater I started CQ on 144.084 and was called by many stations. That DXCC I hear and which I worked: DL, LA, LY, OH, OZ, SM, SP, RA. The best antenna QTF was between 300 and 330 degrees.  All together 13 QSOs.

NAC 1296 MHz (February 2014)

Unfortunac1296_febnately, conditions were very poor again.
Only 10 QSO completed in 3 hours: 6 – tropo (best ODX 265 km)  and
4 via aircraft scatter (best ODX 476 km).
Was very glad to get new initial callsign on 23 cm: LY2BJ, op. Osvaldas.

NAC 1296 (January 2014)

As in NAC 432 I just worked 1 hour. Propagation was very poor. Good, if I can catch reflections from airplane. So, only 6 QSO. The best ODX 476 km (SM3BEI).

NAC 432 MHz (January 2014)

First VHF activity contest, I took part in 2014. Not for competition, but to check conditions and antenna. Because after plentiful and wet snowfall, the air temperature drops down to -10 degrees. My 144 MHz array was totally frozen, so I can not rotate one. But 70 and 23 cm mast, look like in function.  As at appears, conditions were good enough! I worked only one hour (from 19 til 20 utc) and make 19 QSOs. The best ODX 591 km (SM4KO) and 11 WWL total.

Year 2013 statistic

In this year I wa2013_by bandss more or less active on 50, 70, 144, 432 and 1296 MHz and a little on HF (154 QSO). Very good to watch my activity on a diagram, which introduce only VUSHF bands.
Look like I love 144 MHz band. But, for sure, it belongs for
my activity on 2M EME. Complete statistic 0f 2013 in the
table below

ARRL EME Contest 2013

I was ready to participate on 144 and 432 MHz, CW and digital.
My main target during this Contest was testing and adjustment of my new 432 MHz Power Amplifier (GS35B). This PA was ready and firstly tested on 21 of October. As a result was replacement of a blower for more powerful and bigger capacity and new direction coupler. So, now I can measure RF power over 1 KW.

My 2m DXCC No. 127 and 128

During his new DX-pedition to H44-land (Solomon Isl.), Hermann, DL2NUD, decided to make a “double hit” – to activate another country, which is so closed to his place on H44 – Republic of Vanautu. His callsign there was YJ0HP. 16th of October, I complete this very hard QSO with Hermann at 15:27 utc and his signal was -28 db. At this day was Aurora, which  makes decoding of received signals very difficult. No printed screen of this QSO, because I simpsv9anj_2ly forgot to make that…
But, anyway, I’ve got new DXCC #127 on 2m band!

Another event at the end of October, 2013 was expedition to Crete Island by Bernd (DF2ZC) and Frank (DH7FB). They used callsign SV9ANJ during ARRL EME Contest and I was lucky to work just before the contest.
