ta_pe1lFrom 20th until 25 of September 2013,  Johan, Jurgen and Rene, the famous “Atletico Team”, are QRV via moon bounce from Turkey as TA/PE1L on 144-432-1296 Mhz.
First QSO they made with UA3PTW on 25th. I started to call themes after that and was very surprise, then did not get response! Not after first hour of calling, neither after second hour!  So, 2.5 hours of calling were spent to get a new country!

FP/DJ4TC – New DXCC entity (#125) on 2M band.

fp_dj4tc_1 Just a few days ago I was hope to work with a new DXCC in September – the island St. Pierre_Miqueon (FP).  Hermann, DL2NUD and Peter, DJ4TC are started new DX-pedition there. I’ve got FP/DJ4TC very easy in the first day, than they started activity, on 15th of September. Signal was strong and easy decoded in JT65B mode. My report was -21 db. Sure, it was a big pile-up! They are worked over 50 stations in the first day. More about this expedition, including log, is here.

More DXCC entities on 2M EME.

Year 2013 is very rich on EME DX-pedition. Some of themes I worked already: three  in Aprill (9G5EME, 5W0M, EA8.G4RGK), one in June (9X0EME), two on August, (J45EME and HK1H), one in September (3B9EME).
We expected more up to end of the year: FP/DL2NUD and Turkey (callsign is unknown yet) in September; BJ9TM, SV9ANJ and YJ9HP (October).

The Perseids-2013 Meteor Shower

The Perseids is a meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseids are so called, because the point from which they appear to come, called the radiant, lies in the constellation Perseus.
Annually I working only around maximum of the stream, i.e. 10-13 of August. Usually, only looking for new callsigns, or ODX over 2000 km. In this year I make more QSOs (31 QSO), regarding  to year 2012 (22 QSO), because twice “make noise” on 144.370 Mhz and QSX to 144 .394 Mhz. This time new 15 initial QSO  and 3 of them over 2000 km: EI9E/p (2019 km, GW6TEO (2041 km) and EI3KD (2201km). Full log is here.

SP7VC & SQ7OYL Scandinavia trip

sp7vc_tripPrzemyslaw (“Mek”) SP7VC  and Kasia SQ7OYL traveling by car around Scandinavia from 26 July to 27 August 2013.   During the trip they are planning to activate about 12-16 IOTA islands and several locators on HF bands, 50, 70, 144 MHz + microvawes.  It gives a great chance to hunters for squares, especially on the 4 M band, to add in to collection some new absolutely unique  and rare squares, which hardly will be activated soon!

EME expedition to Rwanda, 9X0EME

9x0eme_1In June/July 2013 Hermann DL2NUD and René PE1L are qrv via moonbounce from Rwanda. The callsign 9X0EME. They started very successfully already on 25 of June. At this day, my moon rise was at 20:30 UTC, when Moon in Rwanda has elevation 32 degrees.  But I need to wait to, at least, 4 degrees Moon elevation, before I can see Moon over the trees. E-sporadic season 2013

In this year, on 6 and 4 meter bands for E-sporadic  (for me, at least!) were opened already in April.  Great help gives “The Live MUF calculator V7” – the software, written and supported by Dave, G7RAU.  Below is a screen shoot:

It is very liveMUFeasy to use one: just fulfill personal data in @DX cluster settings” and “MUF mapping settings” and the “MUF Map” will automatically draw live MUF spots from the cluster.

Worked 3 New DXCC entities on 2meter in a three days!

New DX-peditions EME season is started…It gave a chance to increase my DXCC EME score. 3 expeditions in April:
1. 5W0M (West Samoa). Started 04 of April. QSO on 144 : 10.04.13 at 04:08 utc.
2. 9G5EME (Ghana). Started 11 of April. QSO on 144: 11.04.13 at 16:50 utc.
3. EA8/G4RGK (Canary Isl.) Started 10 of April. QSO on 144: 13.04.13 at 11:06 utc.

DXCC Award 2M received!

dxcc_144At last, I received my DXCC Award 2M band!
As it is well known, the diploma started being issued since November, 1945. I don’t know, how many tens of thousands of diplomas are given out on each band, so it was very pleasant for me to get a number in the first hundred  on 2 Meter band!
